An Earth Journal - Comic Zine - A4

8 page, A4 (21*29.7cm) zine, color digital print.

The earth is not doing well. Man and capitalism are becoming more and more destructive. This observation and these alarms are not new, but every year, every month, every day, new details are added. New ever more alarming news.

I wanted to take stock of what we know about the envi- ronment. At first I tried to popularize the issue of global warming, but also to go further: what is the history of the Earth’s climate, what is the history of our Earth itself? I thought that popularizing the subject could have a pos- itive effect on readers - because we’re always less afraid when we understand things better. Most of all, I thought that doing this work would have a beneficial effect on me. I was wrong.

I’m not a scientist. The work of creating comics or graphic storytelling takes time, patience and energy. I was pre- pared for it. But what I hadn’t realized is that scientific research required even more. After writing the first pages of this journal, I realized my mistake: I didn’t have the time, strength, or skills to navigate all the scientific fields that were multiplying around me: natural sciences, phys- ics, history. So I adapted my project to something more intimate and poetic.

While this short comics provide some information about climate and history, it is primarily a personal perspective. With some humor, I try to describe the anguish of climate change, which many will undoubtedly recognize themselves in.
